Stefany Begins...

Stefany Wolfe grew up in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C. She began riding at the age of six, spending many years on the lunge line learning to develop her seat.

She attended Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland and began teaching riding lessons during that time, which later turned a passion into a profession.

Stefany spent her teenage years eventing, where she evented through the preliminary level. She still enjoys jumping some of her horses in training.

She turned to dressage in her late teens, when she began working with the late Hubert Rohrer from the Spanish Riding School and spent 1 1/2 years in Charlottesville, Va, where she worked on a Hanoverian breeding farm with Gerd Zuther at November Hill Farm.   She then began riding in the 100 stallion performance testing, training the 23 stallions there, taking part in the Hanoverian breeding and training program as well.
Stefany spent a winter in Florida with Olympic medallist Michael Poulin with the trakehner stallion Flamboyant.  She continues her education with Betsy Steiner and Scott Hassler at Hilltop farm in Maryland.

Stefany is based at Skyline farm in Laytonsville, Maryland.   She uses the German Method of dressage training and focuses on the balance of horse and rider to help to achieve a relaxed harmony. She feels it is of the utmost importance to understand and treat each student (both human and equine) as individuals with individual needs. She varies her approach in training according to those needs with emphasis on suppleness and thoroughness.
